The Land Use & Blight Committee is responsible for managing all issues related to zoning, land use and blight. It makes recommendations to the Board when a vote from is required on any land use issues. The Committee is also responsible for reporting properties to Code Enforcement, attending BlightStat meetings, attending NCDC meetings and other special projects related to blight and preserving historic properties in the neighborhood. The Committee meets on an as needed basis to review properties and businesses that are requesting a zoning change, a change in land use or an alcoholic beverage permit. Members meet with zoning applicants and visit the property in question before making a recommendation to the FSRIA Board. The Committee is chaired by two co-chairs to support the level of responsibilities required by the Board.
